Mobi’s Pics – UK 2015 (5)
Chatham Historic Dockyard
This week, I am returning to the photographs I took during our trip to the UK back in June, and I now have pleasure in publishing batch number 5, which features the bracing and enjoyable day we spent at Chatham Historical Dockyard in Kent.
The dockyard is massive and contains a number of warships, submarines and even a helicopter, as well as a rope making factory which is still functioning and is one of the oldest in the world.
If that wasn’t enough, there is also a massive museum dedicated to Lifeboats from around Britain.
Everything in this dockyard is beautifully maintained, and it was a pleasure to be shown around. The rope making demonstration was particularly interesting and I was amused at the use of a bicycle by staff to go from one end of the very long rope laying room to the other.
Fascinating stuff… enjoy the pics…
