Our Time in Blighty draws to a Close!
It’s Saturday, 27th June, and only two more days and we’ll be winging our way back to Thailand. We’ve been so lucky with the weather, and while it hasn’t always been very hot, it has been dry and pleasant and we have been able to get out and about every day.
Since we’ve been in Stamford, we haven’t been very far, as we didn’t want to embark on long car journeys with a six-month-old baby, but there’s been plenty within a twenty or so mile radius of Stamford to keep us amused.
Probably the furthest we have been is to Peterborough City where we looked around the little-known, but beautiful cathedral, which dates back 1,500 years to Anglo-Saxon times, with most if it having been rebuilt a mere 1,000 years ago by the Normans. Just outside the cathedral is the ancient guildhall – a mere stripling at only 500 years old.
Lek bought her first ever UK lottery ticket last Saturday (one line only) and guess what?
