Today I will wrap up my three-part treatise on girlie bars on the Darkside, along with announcing, (for the final time), my own Mobi’s Moscars for the current film awards season.
I am going to Bangkok next Thursday and Friday to see my heart and GI specialists, so it is unlikely there will be a full blog next weekend, except for the possible publication of a new chapter(s) of my novel.
50 Shades of Girlie Bars – Part 3
In this final part, I will try to explain what is required to operate a successful bar on the Darkside, and when I say successful – I don’t mean get rich, I simply mean run a bar where its income exceeds its outgoings and that there is enough left over at the end of the month to put some food on the table for the owner and his family.
Mobi’s Moscars – The Results
As I hadn’t previously seen the film Still Alice, starring Julianne Moore, who is up for the best actress Oscar, and has won the BAFTA, I decided, in the interests of fairness, that I had better watch it.
I hadn’t particularly wanted to see this film as I couldn’t imagine anything more depressing for a 68-year-old man than watching a movie about the onset of Alzheimer’s.
Anyway, I saw an interview with Moore in which she claimed the movie wasn’t at all sad….
I’m afraid little Julianne was telling a great big fib.
The Six Wives of Mobi D’Ark: Book One; “Azzy”
I’m afraid there aren’t any new chapters this week.
Since last week, I have re-visited chapter six, (which I published last week), and I have now split it into two chapters – Chapters six and a new chapter seven – as the old chapter six was over 10,000 words – much too long for a single chapter.
I have also added a new, small section to the new chapter seven.
Chapter seven is the final chapter of Part One of my novel, so during the past week, I have been busy working on the first two chapters of Part Two; where the action moves to Port Harcourt.
These new chapters are in early draft form and I hope to publish at least one of these chapters on my blog next weekend.
The completed draft of the entire Part One of my novel is published below.
