Jomtien, 12th September, 2010

I’m back in Jomtien, and I’m still sober – 6 days now.

I did intend to go to the 9 a.m. AA meeting, but for some unaccountable reason, I had a terrible night and I couldn’t make it.

However, I did make the midday meeting in Jomtien and it was a good meeting. The discussion subject was ‘depression’ – right up my alley.

I have been busy since I got up this morning, cleaning my condo and doing various other chores around the home. My mood is not great, but neither is it very down – neutral, I suppose I could call it.

Soon I will go out and have some lunch do a bit of shopping and go to the evening AA meeting.

All pretty boring stuff, but at least I am still sober.

  1. The ruins to the right of you will soon have lost sight of you

Hang in there & take note of the fact that even you notice that if your not focusing on it you do not need it.

Just change your focus immediately when ever you start to obsess.

  2. Keep at it guv’ – it’s not easy but I’m sure one day you will finally wake up and the gloom will lessen. Like the song says……..”I can see clearly now…..”.
    Just keep plugging away.

  3. M,
Just heard a speaker Bob D from Las Vegas last night and his message was great. I have found a web site which has literally thousands of speaker tapes. I’ve been around AA for awhile and Bob D has got to be one of the more eloquent as well as humorous talks. He has a way about explaining resentment, anger and how the 4th step deals with it that I found really unique. Hope you might enjoy. Here’s the link and you can down load an mp3 file to play on the computer/IPOD /mp3 player..whatever.

You might also try the Joe and Charlie big book study. I thought I was a smart guy and having read the big book through a couple times, new all the info. I found out different by studying the book with a Joe and Charlie seminar recording. These 2 old boys for the USA south have really studied the text and their presentation of the material is plain and no non-sense. I highly recommend it.
